The whole family loves to cook. We had a KitchenAid for years but not all of us are as gentle as others. I am not sure what happened but it started to shake and slowly lost power. It made cooking a chore because you had to watch it. We were going top get another one but after reading the reviews we decided to try the Cuisinart SM-55 and I am so glad we did!
The Cuisinart SM-55 is simply designed better. With the old mixer we got used to leaning back and holding our breath when we added more flour. You had to turn it off to scrape down the sides and the bottom otherwise you had undesirable chunks in your baking. Our new mixer is perfect.

The Cuisinart SM-55 has a splash guard that actually works and we never have to scrape down the sides anymore. I make double recipes of bread to feed the family. This mixer comes with a 5 quart bowl and the 800 watts of power handles double batches with ease. Since we never have to stop the machine to scrape the sides, the timer function is great. We have pizza dough down to a science and just let the Cuisinart SM-55 do our kneading. Also my kids can be rough on mixers. They slam them around to move them, they always drop the bowl and they never patiently mix in small amounts of anything. This mixer is handling their abuse with ease.
Another great thing about the Cuisinart SM-55 is that you can buy some pretty useful attachments for it. When we bought this we also got the Citrus Juicer attachment. Fresh orange juice with fresh bread is about as good as it gets.
The Cuisinart SM-55 has been a wonderful addition to our family kitchen. It comes with a dough hook, mixing paddle and chef’s whisk and we use them all. We are always cooking up something. We all crave bread, everyone loves cookies and the kids love making their own pizza dough. Having the Cuisinart SM-55 around has been a huge help and makes our time in the kitchen more fun.
